Executive Muse

I have been the muse to hundreds of leaders at startups, small businesses and Fortune 500 companies—and I’m happy to be yours too!

Well, it happened. You or a leader on your team was promoted from individual contributor to manager because of their hard work and dedication.

And whether this promotion happened last week or decades ago, leaders get buried in the weeds of people management. Many managers are expected to just “know” how to lead. So, they do their best. But you know it takes more than sheer passion to lead people with ease.

This is where I slide into the room, like a guide helping you climb Mount Everest.

I was promoted at a young age with no training. I failed, failed some more and then invested years in learning the techniques for getting the most from my team, absorbing every book, course or article I could find—and applying it to my team the very next day.

Eventually, after several promotions, I became Director of Sales and Training for a team of 31 people—but I realized creating productive employees should be easier for every executive and leader, not just those in my organization.

I left my corporate role!

I became focused on the psychology of leading people. I studied what intrinsically motivates employees,  communication techniques to enhance connection and the neuroscience of emotions that can either hinder or help us. I earned my MBA and leadership coaching certification, then founded Executive Muse to help leaders craft their unique leadership style and lead the team everyone wants to be on.

Hundreds of companies, small and large, have partnered with me to transform their culture, increase employee engagement and reach their full potential.

“Val was key to me in this aspect. Not because I didn't have confidence in myself but I needed help conveying my confidence in a nonthreatening way to my team.”
